Todd Tucker

|| Pastor

Bro. Todd grew up in Lake Charles, LA. He became a Christian at the age of 21. He immediately became a student of the Bible and through that study, God began to grow a desire within him to preach His word. Bro. Todd has now received a Bachelor’s Degree in Church Leadership from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College; an Advanced Master of Divinity, with a concentration in Expository Preaching and Pastoral Ministry, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Pastoral Studies and Systematic Theology, both from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Todd is married to Crystal. They have one daughter. He loves books, basketball, golf, and sneakers. His favorite Bible passages are Isaiah 40:31 and Romans 3:21-26.

What We Believe

As a Southern Baptist church, we support the Baptist Faith and Message as a clear and concise statement of what we believe as Christians. The Baptist Faith and Message is not an addition to the Bible, or in any way sacred in itself, but is an agreed-upon statement of what we, as Southern Baptists, believe the Bible says about God, Life, Family, and the Church. Our Purpose | Locally

We believe that the Lord has called the local church to continue His mission: to seek and to save that which is lost by making disciples who make other disciples. We believe that the church has 5 functions: Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship, Evangelism, and Ministry.
Worship
Our church is committed to worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth. We do this through weekly worship services and individual worship throughout the week.
Discipleship
We come to better know our Lord by studying the Word and by serving in His name. We have Sunday School for all age groups to study the Word at an age-appropriate level. We do periodic discipleship studies that help us to become better disciples of Christ. We also have Wednesday night Bible studies, along with a prayer group, that help us to grow in our walk with Christ.
Fellowship
We believe that God has called the Church to be one body—a community. We do everything we can to make everyone, of all ages, feel at home at Good Shepherd. Acts 2 shows us that fellowship is a crucial part of ministry. Our goal is to be a united body focused on community.
Evangelism
Our church is committed to reaching Hardin County for Christ. We believe in personal evangelism by living a Christ-centered life and telling our friends and neighbors of Christ’s Love, Mercy, and Grace. We also have regular training in how to share the Gospel and we hold periodic evangelistic events in the community.
Ministry
We believe that every believer has a personal ministry for the Lord and the Church serves as a place to coordinate and better equip people for their personal ministries.

Our Purpose | Globally

As a Southern Baptist church, we give to the Cooperative Program to support the ministries of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, and the Sabine Neches Baptist Area. These organizations support missions for Christ in our local area, our state, our nation, and around the world. Our individual members participate in mission activities locally and internationally through the Southern Baptist Convention, the Gideons, and other missionary organizations.
